Product Description
Honeywell 5821 is a wireless temperature and water sensor for those who want to monitor freezing and flooding. In stock and ready to ship!.
The Honeywell 5821 is a wireless transmitter with the ability to monitor temperature and/or flood conditions. The 5821 wireless sensor can either be used as a standalone temperature sensor. It can also be used in combination with the T280R temperature sensor probe or with a 470PB or FP280 water/flood probe. Only one external probe, temperature or flood, can be used with each 5821. There are no probes included with the unit.
The 470PB or FP280, each sold separately, can be hardwired to the 5821 and configured for flood detection. The 5821 ships with a 2.2M Ohm resistor which must be wired in parallel with the 470PB flood probe when that probe is used. The 470PB does not come with the wire needed to connect it to the 5821.
On the other hand, the FP280 comes with a 16.5-foot cable that already has the 2.2M Ohm resistor wired in parallel. All the installer has to do is connect it to the probe terminals on the 5821. Honeywell created the FP280 to make it easier for end users and DIYers to set up flood detection. The 5821's dip switch settings along with the programmed loop number of the wireless zone will determine which type of protection the 5821 wireless transmitter is providing.

✝When an external probe is used, an open-circuit or a short-circuit of the probe's wiring (or at the terminals) results in an alarm on that loop, and a trouble condition on all other programmed loops.
✝✝Probe must be shunted by 2.2M Ohm resistor (included with 5821). Use a maximum wire length of 48 inches (1.2m) between the 5821 and any flood probe.
Without any probe, the internal temperature sensor of the wireless Honeywell 5821 can be used to monitor the protected room's ambient temperature. As a standalone temperature sensor, the 5821 can monitor cold, warm, or hot temperatures.

Resideo's robust 5816OD is a weatherproof waterresistant outdoor wireless transmitter that provides excellent detection and performance in extreme temperatures. It operates in temperatures from -40° F to 150° F -40° C to +66° C 100% RH. The 5816OD also contains two unique zones. The first loop is a normally closed circuit contact that can have external devices wired directly to it.
