For over 80 years enameled cast iron has been the foundation of Le creuset s Product line. Each piece is formed in two Sand molds which are used only once and then the Sand is recycled. Once removed from the mold the piece is polished and finished by hand then enameled and fired twice. The unique production process yields a nonreactive cooking surface that can be used on any type of heat source including induction and glass top and can be used in the oven up to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
