Since voles are not solitary animals and do not dig only one tunnel (which can reach 1 km long), it is recommended to use several traps. Be sure to wear gloves to prevent the transmission of odors and to protect your hand. Plug all holes and inspect the area after about 3 hours. The reopened holes are located in one of the main tunnels that can be up to a kilometer long.Remove the top layer of grass near the tunnel. Stretch the trap as shown and place it about 10 cm deep, in both directions of the tunnel. Place a piece of apple or carrot as bait. Now cover the opening you just made using the upturned sod or a bucket. Mark this area with a stick.
