Product Description
Period of the Texas Revolution (1846-8) 9 ¾” s.e. blade with shallow dropped point of Bowie knife type. The right side with a sword piercing a heart and a reclining wolf. The left with an inscription along the back. The bottom of the inscription and the area below, obscured, evidently when the message or sentiment was no longer fashionable. Brass guard. Three piece horn grip, the pommel carved as a hound’s head as popular at the time. See our FNS9332. Typical early Mexico condition with old stable raised rust to the blade and good patina to the balance. Likely served in the Texas Revolution and possibly even at the Alamo!
