Three Vintage Bottles, Clear Glass, 'Diamond I inside Oval' Owens Illinois Fairmont, VA Bottle, 'Diamond I' Illinois Glass Co. - Watkins Bottle , and 'I' Bottle, Clear Glass. Diamond I inside Oval Clear Glass Bottle was produced in 1938 at the Fairmont, VA Owen Illinois Glass plant. Bottom reads '3 Diamond I inside an Oval 8', '16.". Three refers to the plant location, Fairmont, VA, where the bottle was produced. Diamond I inside an Oval identifies the manufacturer, Owen Illinois Glass Co. Eight is the single digit numeral signifying year of production, 1938. This bottle stands 8 3/4" tall with a base measurement of 3 1/4" by 2". The base also exhibits a suction mark/cut-off scar associated with automatic bottle machines. Cork mouth. Very good condition, No chips or cracks on bottle, sparkling clear glass. Diamond I Clear Glass Bottle was produced by Illinois Glass Co for Watkins before Owens Glass merged with Illinois in 1929. Markings on the bottom reflects a Diamond I logo with a '7' and it has a clean suction mark/cut-off scar that is associated with automatic bottle machines. The Diamond I logo was used by Illinois Glass from 1915-1930. Bottle has Side-strap with raised panel on back and inverted panel on front that is embossed, "The J. R. Watkins Co., Reg. U.S. Pat. OFF." Cork mouth. Very good condition, No chips or cracks on bottle, sparkling clear glass. Bottle stands 8 1/2" tall with base measurement of 3" by 1 1 5/8". 'I' Clear Glass Bottle. Bottom markings read 'I' and 'X or Y'. Do not know the meaning of these markings. Six-sided bottle with ounce and metric scales/measurements on back of bottle that extends from base to shoulder of bottle. Largest ounce measurement is 13 1/2 ozs. and 450 cc. Has a clean suction mark/cut-off scar that is associated with automatic bottle machines. Bottle appears to have fine crack line in the glass, cannot tell if it is a crack. Bottle mouth designed for crew-on lid. Bottle stands 9 1/4" with a base measurement of 2 7/8" by 2". All bottles Cleaned with bleach and a bottle brush.
