European Steel Bear Foot Trap Hand Forged from Balkans 24 Length

Product Description

This is a very unique foot trap.  I have done extensive research to find any similar and was unsuccessful.  This model used twine wrapped around the base of the trap creating a mesh design which acted as the trip plate. it was connected to the till..  I believe some of the original twine is still present. Once the animal stepped into the trap on the mesh, it released the till from the tongue and sprung the trap. The bridge is hand riveted to the base. The chain links are extremely primitive and definitely hand forged.  The chain and 3 prong grappling hook measures 24". The jaws measure approx. 9 3/4" wide.  One spring appears to have been broken at some point during its life and was repaired.  There is a small piece of wood lodged in the bend of the spring.  I
